On Friday, January 30, the Civic Art Division joined Commissioner Lesley Briones and Harris County Precinct 4 for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to unveil eight spectacular murals throughout the Gulfton and Sharpstown neighborhoods in southwest Houston.
We partnered with Precinct 4 to bring these large-scale murals to life, working with eight talented Houston-based artists who engaged directly with residents to ensure each piece reflects the spirit of the neighborhood it calls home. From nature and sports to music and culture, these murals show how our unique imaginations create stronger communities.
We extend our deepest gratitude to Commissioner Briones, Harris County Precinct 4, our talented artists, and the Gulfton and Sharpstown communities for their collaboration on this meaningful project. Here’s to more art, more connection, and more inspiration in the neighborhoods we serve!
