Over the past year, the Civic Art Division on behalf of Houston Airports facilitated the acquisition of 27 portable artworks for inclusion in the City of Houston’s Civic Art Collection. Featuring both two- and three-dimensional pieces, this vibrant selection celebrates the remarkable talents of 27 Texas based artists who are represented by Houston-area galleries. The works are now on view throughout the George Bush Intercontinental and William P. Hobby Airports. 

The Civic Art Division oversaw the artwork selection process and coordinated the installation of these pieces across both airports. From sculpture and collage to mixed media and textiles, the collection highlights a dynamic range of materials and techniques reflecting the rich cultural tapestry that defines our city and state.  

We are thrilled to work with Houston Airports to not only strengthen their world-class public art program, but also to offer travelers a glimpse into the immense creativity that fills our city with pride!
